Bears’ Javon Wims suspended two games after sucker-punch ejection

Javon Wims’ wild sucker punches has cost him a couple of games.

The Chicago Bears wide receiver was suspended two games for clocking New Orleans Saints safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson during Sunday’s game, the NFL announced Monday. The suspension was officially for “violations of unsportsmanlike conduct rules.”

Wims will appeal the suspension, according to NFL Network.

The 26-year-old reportedly told his coaches that Gardner-Johnson spat on him before he threw haymakers. Video also showed Gardner-Johnson ripping Wims’ mouthpiece out on a play that occurred before the third-quarter scuffle. Wims was ejected from the Bears’ overtime loss to the Saints.

Gardner-Johnson responded to the incident after the game by writing on his Instagram story, “THAT MAN PUNCH LIKE A FEMALE.”
