Chris Christie considering a presidential run in 2024

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is not ruling out a 2024 presidential bid — even if it means running against his old friend Donald Trump, according to a report.

“I would not, no,” Christie told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Monday, Fox News reported. “I would not rule it out.”

“If I go and look up Christie 2024, will that URL already be reserved?” Hewitt asked.

“ChrisChristie.com is, sir,” Christie answered. “So, we’re gonna keep that one and we’ll see where we go from here.”

Christie, 58, a longtime Trump friend and recent adviser made an unsuccessful run for the nation’s highest office in 2016 before dropping out and endorsing Trump.

But the two-term Garden State governor has distanced himself from Trump since contracting the coronavirus — and launching a public service campaign urging Americans to wear a mask to guard against the pandemic.

Christie, who called it a “big mistake” to not wear a mask during a White House event in October, has also been critical of the president’s refusal to accept an Election Day loss to former Vice President Joe Biden.

“If you’re gonna say those things from behind the podium at the White House — it’s his right to do it, it’s his right to pursue legal action,” Christie said on ABC last month.

“But show us the evidence,” he said. “We’ve heard nothing today about any evidence.”
