Fire department rescues dog that fell into partially frozen Long Island pond

This pooch lived up to its name.

Authorities launched a daring rescue of a dog named Lucky on Sunday after it fell into a partially frozen pond at Hewlett’s Grant Park in Nassau County, LI.

Specially trained members of the Hewlett Fire Department arrived at the pond shortly after 9 a.m. and were able to safely reach the Golden Retriever.

They plucked Lucky out of the frigid water and took it to an animal hospital for observation, police said.
