Stephen Colbert is teaming up with Showtime once again, leading another election night special after his emotional 2016 live event that left the longtime TV host shocked as the final votes rolled in. While Colbert was visibly shaken by that year’s election results, it sounds like this time around, he’s prepared for any and every outcome. In other words, Stephen Colbert’s Election Night 2020: Democracy’s Last Stand: Building Back America Great Again Better 2020 will likely be nothing like his show four years ago.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert showrunner Chris Licht said his team has been overpreparing for tonight’s results, whatever they may be. “Whereas we four years ago went into the night thinking we have a pretty good idea of what’s going to happen, there’s no poll, no expert, no prognosticator — absolutely no one — can convince us we know what’s going to happen this election night,” Licht said. “We are prepared for every eventuality. I feel cautiously optimistic we are prepared, and that is thus reducing the anxiety level we didn’t feel last time, but we should have.”
Whatever outcome you’re anticipating from the 2020 election, it sounds like Colbert’s got it covered. Here’s everything you need to know to watch Stephen Colbert’s Election Night 2020.
