Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly says goodbye to Ford Field after Rams trade

Kelly Stafford is saying goodbye to her home away from home.

On Saturday, the wife of quarterback Matthew Stafford penned an emotional note from Detroit’s Ford Field, one week after the Lions traded the 33-year-old signal-caller to the Los Angeles Rams.

“A lot of emotions as I watched Matthew walk around Ford Field for the last time this morning .. a place full of incredible memories that we shared with 65,000 of our closest friends.. so proud and grateful to have been a part of that family. #staffordstrong,” Kelly captioned the post.

Stafford, the first-overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, will be heading west for the 2021 NFL season, with the Lions acquiring Rams quarterback Jared Goff, two future first-round draft picks, and a third-round selection.

Last week, Kelly — who has been married to Stafford since 2015 — posted her thoughts on the trade in an Instagram story.

“Pretty excited about all the Cali sunsets in our future,” the mother of four wrote.

As for Goff, the Rams’ first-overall pick in 2016, he shared a goodbye note Wednesday to the city of Los Angeles. His girlfriend, model Christen Harper, also wrote a sweet message on social media.
