Miley Cyrus says she knew she’d made it big when she “pissed off Cher.”
Cyrus joined Billy Idol on his upcoming SiriusXM special, “Live Transmission Christmas,” and she groused to the “White Wedding” rocker about, “the amount of people that have talked s–t about my records, or what I’m doing.”
Cyrus recalled, “I had Cher come after me on Twitter… that’s when I thought I had really made it. I’m like, ‘Oh, Cher gives a f–k about what I’m doing.’”
To jog your memory: Cher slammed Cyrus’ 2013 VMAs performance, by saying, “She can’t dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn’t great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don’t stick out your tongue if it’s coated.”
Cyrus told Idol, “she was mad that I was sticking my tongue out all the time, and all that s–t. And I’m like, ‘Yo, I pissed Cher off, I really made it!’ That’s what I mean: When these legends, and these icons, and these artists that we look up to — when they, y’know… f–king hate us, it’s still a compliment.”
Idol recently collaborated with Cyrus on her new album. “Live Transmission Christmas” will be a special edition of his SiriusXM show on Dec. 22.
