MTA overtime cheats indicted on federal conspiracy charges

The Long Island Rail Road workers arrested in December for allegedly making thousands of dollars for time they didn’t actually work were indicted Thursday on federal conspiracy charges.

LIRR “overtime king” Thomas Caputo and four others allegedly “worked together… by repeatedly covering for one another’s absences from work,” according to the indictment unsealed in the Southern District of New York.

The defendants allegedly reaped over $5,000 each in fraudulent wages, the court docs said.

A fifth Long Island Rail Road worker, Frank Pizzonia, was arrested Thursday morning in connection to the case.

Pizzonia earned a whopping $305,477 in 2018 — the year of the alleged fraud.

The grand jury on Thursday also indicted ex-subway worker Michael Gunderson, who was arrested alongside Caputo and crew in December on separate charges.
