Snowstorm pushes NYC to cancel specialized high schools exam

The Department of Education has canceled the entry exam to the city’s specialized high schools due to the looming snowstorm.

**ALERT!** 2/7 SHSAT RESCHEDULED,” the DOE posted on its website.

Students in charter and private schools were set to take the test Sunday in middle school buildings, starting at 8 a.m. The DOE administered the exam for eighth graders in DOE schools on Jan. 27.

“Due to inclement weather, all students scheduled to take the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test on Sunday, February 7, will be rescheduled to take the test on a later date,” the notice said.

“Registered students will still have the opportunity to take this test! We will share updated test dates with affected families during the week of February 8.”
