The Dutton Family is about to get a little bit bigger. ViacomCBS and MTV Entertainment Group announced today that the hit drama Yellowstone is getting its very own spinoff series, Y: 1883, which is set to premiere on the streaming service currently known as CBS All Access later this year, when it switches over to Paramount+.

Y: 1883 promises to tell the origin story of the Dutton family, taking them to the Great Plains, where they set off on a journey “toward the last bastion of untamed America,” per today’s press release. “It is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land – Montana.” Y: 1883 will be executive produced by Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David Glasser, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari.

The series comes as Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan signed a multi-year deal with ViacomCBS and MTV Entertainment Group, under which he’ll create exclusive content for both MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. Under the deal, Sheridan’s content will be exclusive to ViacomCBS, which includes the Paramount Network, Paramount+, CBS, and more.

“I am excited to continue the story of Yellowstone and thank you to Chris, Keith and David for allowing me to keep on expanding the family for the fans,” Sheridan said in a statement.

Chris McCarthy, President of MTV Entertainment, added, “Taylor Sheridan is a visionary creative whose work has reinvented genres and amassed fan bases around the globe; we are thrilled he calls ViacomCBS and MTV Entertainment his home. We couldn’t be more excited to build upon our partnership with him, expand the Yellowstone universe and showcase Taylor’s boundless talent across all of our brands and platforms.”

Along with today’s release, 101 Studios teased the upcoming series with a brief clip, which will also air during the Super Bowl on Sunday,  Feb. 7. In the short and snowy video, a voiceover says, “I don’t care if you live or die. But should you live, you tell them about me” before the snow clears and a wooden sign reveals the name of the series, Y:1883.

It’s no surprise Yellowstone is getting a spinoff after the series’ successful third season, which was crowned the most watched season premiere on cable in the past two years, with a record-breaking 6.5 million total viewers. Watch the full Y:1883 teaser in the clip above.
